Project manager Gbati Nikabou takes stock on the 25th anniversary of SALEM-Togo. What has been achieved since the early days with Gottfried Müller up to the present day?
The idea for the Tree Club for Kids was recently conceived at SALEM Uganda. 1,000 children are to plant 10,000 fruit trees together with their families. We supply the seedlings and support the families with advice and assistance.
The SALEM tree nurseries in our village and the surrounding area are doing excellent work. Managing Director Samuel Müller, who is currently visiting SALEM-Uganda, is checking how well the trees planted in recent years have grown and developed. This requires a great deal of care and protection for the seedlings.
SALEM has been offering outpatient assisted independent living for over 15 years. This service has now been expanded to include the shared accommodation, which enables young adults aged 18 to 35 with mental illnesses to live independently…
Various collaborations have contributed greatly to this positive development, and patient numbers and treatments are rising steadily. We are continuing to work towards full recognition as a hospital. Here is a brief status report from our health centre.
