The SALEM tree nurseries in our village and the surrounding area are doing excellent work.  Managing Director Samuel Müller, who is currently visiting SALEM-Uganda, is checking how well the trees planted in recent years have grown and developed. This requires a great deal of care and protection for the seedlings.
SALEM has been offering outpatient assisted independent living for over 15 years. This service has now been expanded to include the shared accommodation, which enables young adults aged 18 to 35 with mental illnesses to live independently…
Various collaborations have contributed greatly to this positive development, and patient numbers and treatments are rising steadily. We are continuing to work towards full recognition as a hospital. Here is a brief status report from our health centre.
In addition to the SALEM headquarters, our assisted living team has also been based in Stadtsteinach for over 15 years. We are now planning to establish a new shared living community called ‘Sprungbrett’, thereby creating an opportunity for young people with mental illness to live independently.
The Ecuadorian town of Mindo where our children's and youth center is located does not have a functioning wastewater treatment system. With the construction of our new youth centre "Maloka", we very quickly agreed with the donors that we had to improve something in this regard.
