Finding peace for the soul
We are planning to open a shared flat in SALEM-Stadtsteinach in December 2025, which is designed for a maximum of 6 people. As the premises first need to be converted and renovated, we urgently need your donations.
The shared accommodation named ‘Sprungbrett’ (springboard) is aimed in particular at people aged between 18 and 35 who suffer from mental illness. Typical diagnoses include anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, personality disorders, depression, eating disorders, autism and ADHD/ADD.
These young adults often live in an environment that hinders their positive development, but lack of alternatives forces them to remain there. The ‘Sprungbrett’ project aims to give them the opportunity to stabilise, develop positively and become independent in a protected living environment with appropriate professional support.
In recent years, it has become apparent that our target group is a growing segment of the population, but one that has little representation. However, with close educational support, affected young people can be empowered in their development to the extent that they will be able to lead independent lives and integrate into society in the foreseeable future.
The difficulties in social integration lead to isolation and exacerbate existing health problems, addiction and even the risk of suicide. Ignoring these difficulties results in immense costs for society in terms of ensuring long-term care for these people. They are also missing from the job market.
SALEM wants to give these people a peaceful place where they can receive support and at the same time have the freedom to develop. Please help us to do this!
