Good News from SALEM-Uganda

12.09.2022

Do you remember our fundraising campaign before Christmas - the donation pot for Denis and others who urgently need medical help? We would now like to show you how Denis is doing after two surgeries that we were able to finance through your donations.

The four-year-old boy lives in a children's home in SALEM-Uganda and had an extremely deformed leg due to rickets in infancy. The doctors recommended to observe him as they hoped that it would normalise in infancy. Unfortunately, this was not the case. He was limited by the deformity and it was clear that his problems would worsen in adulthood.

Through special donations, he was able to undergo surgery at Mbale Hospital. During the operation, the bone was cut to create the normal bone anatomy. Unfortunately, the first operation was not successful and so he had to be operated for a second time in April.

In the meantime, the little boy is doing very well and according to the social worker at the children's home, he is developing splendidly. We are now full of hope that Denis will be able to lead a relatively normal, independent life in the future. Many thanks to everyone who made this possible!
