Our small Salem centre in Mindo, Ecuador, looks after the most underprivileged children and young people of the village. We try to offer them extensive care and find solutions to their most urgent problems.

In the Salem children's home are at the moment 13 children between 7 and 13 years old. They stay from Monday to Friday in the Salem centre and go home to their families over the weekend.

The children and youth centre operates as a day care attended by 25 to 30 children and young people. Here, they can realise and discover their own abilities and thus put their ideas into action. Lokal teachers help with homework. Our qualified staff offer many possibilities for the children to learn and apply what they have learned.
In the craft studio and the sewing studio they work with various tools and materials, thus improving their creativity at the same time.

Your sponsorship for the Salem children in Mindo not only helps the children of the children's home and the children's centre but also enables about 40 more children to attend schools. We support them with school materials and uniforms and, of course, we are ready to listen to their parents' worries.
The sponsorships also contribute to improve the infrastructure of the Salem children's home.

Our vegetarian "soup kitchen" offers a wide variety of dishes for people in need, including young, elderly and disabled alike. Every day, about 40 people are provided with a good meal here.

While working together with other local environmental groups, some of our work consists of teaching about reusing an recycling, as well as general education about the care and protection of the environment.

Through our work, we wish to make a contribution to create a better world where humanity and the care for our environment matters more than money. Our main principles are:
