The Maryland Salem Children's Trust is celebrating its 30th Anniversary.

In the years since 1978, friends and supporters have helped to build lives, as over 300 boys and girls from across the state of Maryland have found a home here and gone on to make a difference in their own world. Partners in caring for these children of abuse, neglect and abandonment, they have brought help and healing to broken hearts, a family to the lonely, and love and hope to those who knew none.

The 38th IVU World Vegetarian congress takes place from July 27th to August 2, 2008 at the Kulturpalast in Dresden.

We invite you to visit us at the Salem table in the entrance hall of the Kulturpalast during the congress. We will be presenting Salem's international work, vegetarian organic restaurant, and guesthouse.

This tree is dedicated to all Salem friends around the world, with grateful thanks for their kind support and help throughout the past 50 years and hopefully for the years to come.

Please come again one day to enjoy some apples from this tree. It is a very old species called "Dietzenroder Bohnenapfel".

We all hope you will like it, because it is also your tree!
Planted in Spring 2007, dedicated on 30th of November 2007
