Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is an alternative therapy. It is a training method that can help the brain to function more effectively. It is especially useful to treat conditions like attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD).
What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback helps a person to retrain their brain. Through the training process the brain learns to work with greater control and stability. The trainer can watch the brain’s activity in real time on an EEG and gives positive visual and acoustic feedback when there are desired changes in brain activity. In this way, the brain is rewarded for changing its activity towards more stable patterns and becomes able to recreate these patterns on demand.
Neurofeedback is especially suitable where conditions are caused by irregular brain wave patterns. These are conditions like: anxiety states; depression; attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD); sleep disorders; headaches (including migraines); pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) and some emotional disturbances.
