08.03.2011SALEM-Uganda has embarked on a three year tree planting project to mitigate the effects of, and assist local farmers to adapt to Climate Change. The goal is to plant one million trees in the region of Mbale (Eastern Uganda). SALEM is working in partnership with three other NGO’s in the region who are members of the ‘Mbale Coalition Against Poverty’ and are supported by Waterloo Foundation UK and the Welsh Assembly Government.

Here is a wonderful film by Seth Gardner from SALEM-Scotland about what has happened in SALEM-Uganda so far.

Please read below the report by Vanessa Moss about the first six months of this project.

SALEM-Scotland actively supports SALEM-Uganda Children’s Village. They are looking to create a community of like-minded people who would like to offer their support, time or money, however small.
